English Post 6

I just finished my book At First Sight by: Nicholas Sparks, and I truly did like the book, I thought I wouldn't like it and I did. I am glad I finished it and it turned out to be a book I enjoyed. I am starting and new book The Lucky One by: Nicholas Sparks, I did start reading this book last trimester just a little and I want to finish it. I have seen the movie plenty of times and I hope the book meets my expectation of being like the movie. Books seem to be more detailed than movies, that's why I think it is better to read a book before seeing the movie, but I like to compare the book and the movies to see what things they have that are similar and the things they have that are different. This is the second book I have read that has been made into a movie and I want to read more books that have been made into movies, because I like having the chance to rate how well the movie really captures the book. I'm looking forward to finishing this book and seeing how well it is similar to the movie.

I just finished my book At First Sight, and It was not what I expected at all, it couldn't have more shocking, a very sad shock, but still interesting. I am glad I read it, but I was a little disappointed with the end, I mean it made it good because it wasn't predictable, but I wish it wouldn't have happened. It was really sad but it made the book good, it made me want to keep reading, it was awful how it happened, and it is awful for Jeremy (main character), but it did make the book good. At the beginning I was very skeptic about it and I thought I wouldn't like it but it was actually really good. I do recommend it to people, but there are other books I have found more interesting and more unexpected. I do give this book a good critic for being so unpredicted but it could have been a little better.

Krista Ramsey Column

This story was about if 3-4 year old should even go to preschool. In New York 2 mayors are arguing whether parents really need to spend money on there kids to go to preschool. They followed around a little girl Ashlyn around the school and what she does everyday, her schedule was busy with fun stuff, and she has a very high vocabulary, and is already doing addition math. The mayors are arguing about if parents think they actually learn anything and the difference it would make on a child if they didn't go to preschool. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/opinion/columnists/krista-ramsey/2014/02/08/krista-our-kids-tell-the-story-of-why-preschool-is-a-must/5328181/

"Now think about children who have every advantage stripped away – no books, no dependable adults, no conversation, no music, no art materials, no structure, no emotional warmth. Where exactly do they go every day without preschool? How exactly do they prepare to sit next to super-ready kids like yours in kindergarten?"
This quote is very, very true, it is long which is good to get there point across. If children didn't have preschool they would have no opportunity to improve or help them for kindergarten, it is great to have experience when you are so little, it gives them time to settle in to the new enviorment.

3 questions I have for Krista Ramsey
1. How does she think of these topics, or find out about them?
2. Do these columns influence her life at all?
3. When did she start these columns?

English Post 4

I have only a few pages left of my book and I just wanted to write about if I think it is a good book or not. I do think my assumption in the beginning of this book was wrong, I did think that this was going to be a bad book, but it turned out to be pretty good. It wasn't my favorite of all the books I have read, and not one of Nicholas Spark's best in my opinion, but it did raise my standards about it and I am glad it turned out better than I thought. I do recommend this book to people who read Nicholas Sparks and want something a little different from him. This book still is romance but mystery too, it was a good mix but there wasn't so much of a mystery genre and that was what was upsetting otherwise it had a good plot to it, and did make me want to keep reading at some parts, but yes I will have to say it was an overall pretty good book.

English Post 3

My book is a very relatable book, women who are pregnant may understand this book better or people that have had troubles with there baby in the womb. I am almost done with my book and it is really fascinating how the couple in the book work out there problems. Right now in my book the girl Lexie is pregnant and she is having troubles with the baby and i am related my book to a show I watch right now on Netflix called One Tree Hill, there is part in the show that one of the main characters Peyton gets pregnant and finds out that if she has the baby there is a chance that she may die, it is kind of like the book because Lexie has troubles with her child, her child might be born with webbed feet or some sort of disability, both characters have to make a decision of having the baby or not, but the soon to be moms consider the babies before themselves.

English Post 2

My main characters are Jeremy and Lexie. They are a couple and are getting married after only knowing each other 3 months. There are good qualities about both of them, like that Jeremy is a very understanding character, he likes to fix problems and figure out a solution. Lexie is thoughtful character, but can be only thoughtful to herself and not think about the other people she may hurt or think about their feelings. Jeremy and Lexie are good together because Jeremy is good at resolving problems and if Lexie is upset Jeremy will be there to fix it. Lexie on the other hand is good for Jeremy because she thinks of ways to help situations and tries really hard to not start fights. There are a few bad qualities the characters have for example Jeremy isn’t a very good friend, he isn’t understanding with his best friend Alvin, he just pushes him away because he only wants to believe Lexie so he doesn’t start anymore fights. Some bad qualities Lexie has is that she doesn’t think about other people’s feeling and how it would hurt them or the relationship, but they are good for each other when it comes to the relationship.

English First Post

My book is called At First Sight by: Nicholas Sparks. The best thing about my book right now, is that it is very unpredictable. There are mysterious things that happen throughout the book and it makes you want to know why that happened or who did what. It definitely is romantic but also mysterious. I like that the book isn't just all about love and babies and marriage it has mysterious scenes within it that make it such a better, more interesting book rather than bland. Another good part is when the couple in the book find out things that could potentially ruin their relationship, but they pull it together, and work it out. I am hoping nothing drastic happens from now till the end, because it just might ruin it, but it also could make it better than it already is.

The worst thing about my book right now is one of the main characters Jeremy, could be getting lied to by his wife. I feel like there is something he doesn't know about his wife and he needs to find out, or something bad will happen. But I could be wrong, it's just his wife Lexie doesn't seem as innocent as she looks.
